Every team has to be represented, obviously. Or else I doubt he would have...

TBTwinsFan - His ERA+ indicates that as well, at a solid 99.

Why is he retiring so young?

Shoulder issues the last few seasons. I LOVED Gil. Probably picked him on every fantasy team from '04-'09 :(

Meche had excellent season in 2007 and 2008 with sub 4 ERA's and in 2008 he had 14 wins on a 72-90 Royals team. There are plenty of players who made an all star team in a year they were having a good season. I have a problem with perennial all stars who still make the team in the midst of a horrible season than a one time all star making the team in the midst of his best season. Meche started the only game I saw at Kauffman and struck out the first 4 hitters.

Oh, I'd be happy to trade for your letter if you want to get rid of it.

55_marlins_sp - Yeah that makes a lot of sense...sucks that he is retiring so young though, still in his prime.
