And I hope this is the correct place to post this but as I am going though this massive lot (massive for me at least) if there is anything in particular I can look for please let me know. There are roughly 80 2 row shoeboxes of cards. The mix so far has been 60% baseball, 25% basketball, 15% football.
The collection is a closed shop inventory that spans roughly from the late 1980s to very early 2000s as the shop closed circa 2001. Most of the stuff I have seen is from the 1993-1997 range.
Again, I hope that I am posting this in the correct place.
Here is what the collection looks like

Personally, I would start by separating out the stars.

And then make piles for those stars.

Then figure out if you got any rare stuff for those stars.
Thats what I am doing. Got a decent amount of Jeter rookies, ARod rookies, Kobe, etc. Found a couple of Topps Gold Jeters and some other odds and sods in there as well.

Yeah there are tons of stars. Lots of Ryan, ripken, Arod, Jordan, Kobe,Griffey, frank Thomas, piazza etc.
I got rid of the 700k of bulk that was akin to a boat anchor.

California and Oregon for school
plenty, really? Like $3 tony Gwynn rookies?
Ever heard of 90's inserts? If you think there are no valuable cards from the 90's or 80's you are being ignorant. Plus, you don't look to move one rookie at a time. You look to move lots of cards. Like 1000 Ripken cards or 500 Jeter cards. Thats the way these lots are sold once they are pieced out. I guess you haven't dabbled in 80-90's collections before.
dude... thats a win

when buying collections like this you are BANKING on the bulk.
Yep. 3$ Gwynn rookies x 100? 300 bucks. These are almost always money making collections if you have the time to piece everything out and sort it all.

If you run across any rarer Bob Abreu's, Cliff Floyd's, Derrek Lee's or Manny Ramirez's, keep me in mind :D

Will do! Ive sorted about half the boxes by sport and am now going to start working on sorting by player.
I will pull those players and get you a list sometime over christmas break.
I did find this morning a Bob Abreu Pinnacle Platinum Red 2162/3999 you want me to start a pile with it?
Thanks!
