So i had purchased this jersey about 2-3 years ago and finally had it framed. I loved how he signed going up the 4 and how clean it was. Not very many out there that look like this.

So I paid $200 at a local place to get it framed. When I got it back I was a little disappointed how basic it looked. He didn't even put his full name on the plate!

So then this popped up on my ebay feed the other day. One of the nicest framed jerseys ive ever seen. Everything is super crisp and he really put some great accents on it. I asked how much to frame my jersey and he will frame for $325 dlvd. Compared to what I paid for crap and what people charge around here I think thats a hell of a deal. I think I will have to write off that other fram and get it redone!

While the first one isn't well done (maybe the framer didn't know Griff's full name), something about the curve and sleeves of the second one just looks "funny". I like the crispness, but I'd want it done without the shaping.

most of the blowout forum said the same thing. I think ya'll crazy lol. I personally like the way it displays, it looks different and it's very well done. It's not your generic run of the mill frame job. To each his own I guess.

I know what it is. It reminds me of those miniature figures that were put out not long ago. That - or like a Wii version of a baseball video game.

Super crisp, though. Show us the final result when you have it done.

Why would you have something framed without telling them how you wanted the piece to look?

See, I think the exact opposite. I love that the shoulder patch is centered and displayed. Looks really clean.

Why would you assume I didn't discuss how I wanted it with him?

You paid $200 and were not happy with how it looked, in particular the fact this framer only used his last name on the plate. I've had almost a dozen things professionally framed at around that price and each one came out exactly how I wanted because I thoroughly went over the details with the framers. If they had created something different than what I requested I would have asked for a refund or for them to redo the piece.

BTW, I love how the 2nd frame turned out!

For any amount, the framer should be able to show you a good example, either a Mock-Up or at least a pic, of what the Jersey is gonna look like and then you can talk it out BEFORE you dish out the coin.

But those prices are in the Neighborhood.

And personally, I prefer three colors and double matting...

if you have the room get the whole jersey framed it always looks so much better. I paid 230 for mine triple matted with museum glass.
