Lebron vs Carmelo

Both guys are ringless

Lebron is "valued" in the hobby at about FIVE+ times as much as Carmelo

makes no sense.

same hobby gap exists between Crosby and Ovechkin, but i think some of that
has to do with the hobby bias towards European hockey players

well it makes some sense, melo is one of my favorite in the league but to compare career stats so far he gets 3 assists a game compared to lebrons 7 and 24 ppg to lebrons 28...Melo also is not seen as a defensive force and gets lazy at times on the defensive end were lebron is first team...one guy has showtime dunks while the other doesnt (i like melos shot alot better but that doesnt always transfer into hobby value)..one other thing i have noticed is that carmelo has the tendancy to get injured each season

Getting traded to Chicago or New York would be a good start.

And beyond it simply being a more popular/bigger market/team.....it also sets up a potential rivalry with Lebron and the Heat. Could increase prices for all involved.....and then if Melo could come out on top - I'm sure it would close the gap some.

if Ovechkin was American or Canadian prior to Crosby's Gold and Cup win, they would have been much closer in price.

Now even if Ovechkin wins both, he will still lag its a Russian stereotype.

As I learn more, i am seeing why lebron is five times more money then anyone else playing the game today.

I dontsee anyone else (except maybe KD) gaining any kind of overall love in this hobby.
Kind of sad when you think about it.

You know I was thinking about it and to say both are ringless is a tad unfair to Carmelo......he did win the championship with Syracuse. Know it doesn't count for a lot - but still more than Lebron has done.

Thinking about that though, you really see the hype Lebron came in with - as this gap existed right out of the gate. A high school kid over a dominant freshman who led his team to an NCAA title. That is why I do give Lebron credit though.....the hype was almost unreal, it was really set up to watch him fail.......and he didn't.

And I do think Durant will gain.....I stick by assessment that he is the true heir to the Jordan - Kobe throne. He'll be the best and most dominant player in the league sooner than later.
