It was probably a bad investment from the beginning, but I just sold the last of my Joe Mather stuff, which was was an Orange Ref for $42. I made $39 altogether, so my first try at prospecting wasn't a total bust, but I am thinking that maybe I should study the prospect more before I buy.

why did you sell?

It was a prospecting thing from the beginning, and I needed the cash right now. All I had left was the Orange Ref, (which I bought for $7), and I threw it up on eBay with a BIN/BO of $55. A board member bought it for $42. ;)

I think you sold too early. Depending on a variety of factors, Mather could end up as a starter this year or at the very least backing up Pujols/outfielders. At least you didn't lose anything.

Curious where you see Mather starting???

Not saying he won't but this really seemed possible to me with Ankiel, Rasmus, Skip, Ludwick as top outfield options and Pujols progressing well...

I think the guy has some potential but he will need an injury or 2 to boost him into lineup regularly in my opinion

I don't see him/hope he isn't starting, but there's a chance. If the Cards trade one of Ankiel/Schumaker/Ludwick and Rasmus and Duncan both struggle to win the job, it'd come down to Mather and Barton. From all I've heard Mather would likely win that competition. The chances aren't great, but it's certainly possible.

I really see the Cards trading either Ludwick or Ankiel. Which I think would put skip and mather splitting a corner. But there is also interest in skip apparently, so who knows. He could start the season with a daily spot.

I think he sold to late. He should have sold this past season when his stuff was relatively high.

I think I did, unfortunately. :(
