George,

Have you considered the possibility that the "21" on your ticket stub refers to the twenty-first home game of the season, and not the twenty-first game of the season?

If so, your ticket stub would be from: http://www.baseball-reference.com:8080/boxes/NYA/NYA192805220.shtml

Here, for example, is a ticket stub from Roger Maris 61st home run game. Even though it is the last game of the season, the ticket stub says 77, since it was the Yankees 77th home game of the season.

I'm glad to hear it.

Here's another example of what I am talking about. Joe DiMaggio debuted on May 3, 1936, which was the Yankees 11th home game of the season. Here is a ticket stub from that game:

I've been searching for historical data on Yankee Stadium ticket prices, without any luck.

A couple of months ago, Beckett had an interesting article about a big ticket stub seller named Lenny Steren. Here is a link to the article:

http://www.beckett.com/news/2012/04/a-rainy-night-at-shea-changed-lenny-sterens-life/

I wonder if you contacted him and sent him an image if he might be able to help you?

Good luck.

I have dealt with Lenny on my ticket collection over the years. He is very knowledgeable and still works for PSA to certify and grade tickets. So I think he would be as good as anyone to ask. All of his contact info is in the article above.
