I'm by no means a Lebron fan, because it drives me crazy when I see modern players compared to Jordan (especially when the young bucks claim that today's stars are better than MJ. That drives me insane), but objectively, I have to say the criticism that this guy is getting is most certainly uncalled for. The idiocy of what people are saying about him, such as he's finished, his legacy is tarnished, he'll never win a ring, etc is mind boggling. I've never seen a player get so much criticism, undeservingly so, in my entire life. The Mavs threw sooo many double teams at him, you can't possibly expect him to drop 30-40 a game. The dude is 26 years old and people are acting like he's already over the hill just because the Heat didn't meet the ridiculous expectations placed on them. They are one or two roll players away from being a 65-68 win/championship team, and they will be back next year.

The guy just got a major helping of humble pie last night and I bet he'll be shooting a commercial or something today. He was the one poking fun of Nowitzki with Wade, but who has the ring. The guy wanted to be the "bad guy" and he got what he wanted. People would be rooting for him if he was still on Cleveland and this had been Cleveland in the Finals, but no, he wanted a ring to fall in his lap and now people judge him and root against him because he took the easy way. Apparently it's what he wanted, so why fight his battles for him as if he needs or wants you to. He made his own bed and is now lying in it.

This is 100% right. I thought everyone said the Heat couldn't even get to the finals at the beginning of the year because they didn't have the role players? In my eyes they surpassed most peoples' expectations for year 1. Everyone has the right to hate whoever they want, but I'm glad he said what he said last night.

And after Bynum's cheap shot in the playoffs, it's hard for the Magic to sell their fans on trading Howard for a frequently injured punk even if he is talented.

I was amazed how he deferred the chance to make a play twice on one possession with around 40 seconds left. He didn't even try to create a play like regular season LeBron would have.

I agree. Personally I'd be surprised if they don't win 2-3 championships or more. People forget that they sang the same tune about Manning, Bonds and a ton of other big names before they won. All it takes is one year, and IMO his will come sooner rather than later. Obviously he did not carry Miami (or Cleveland before them) to a championship but he is still an incredibly skilled player, who is still relatively young. Even if you buy that there's something that separates "winners" from "losers" he'll learn how to win before it is all said and done.

well it's pretty clear that the first 3 quarters don't even matter, and should not be played. I mean, seriously, championships aren't won in the 2nd quarter! LOLOLOLLMAOROTFLLMAO get it?! Yep, I'm sure LeBron hates basketball and when the 4th quarter comes around he's like "f this I'm gonna read a book"

I get what you're saying, but that's not far from the truth it seems in most NBA games.
Teams make runs, it's back and forth and then it comes down to who is able to close it out in the 4th.....that was clearly where the Mavs won the series.

I also (sadly) agree with the post above. I'd imagine this team is still on course to win multiple titles. Or at the least, I can't imagine these guys not putting it together and winning at least one. If it takes a few years, I think some of the "hate" may also begin to dissipate - as it won't be be "easy" at that point. I think that's something that caused a lot of the resentment - that the perception was they were going to team up and it was a foregone conclusion they'd dominate.

Also, Instead of Manning....the comparison I really see is with Alex Rodriguez. I think it parallels when Rodriguez made the move to New York. The talent, numbers, yet lack of a title. The insane amount of scrutiny when he didn't lead them to a title right away.....the hate he inspired across the country. You can even compare Wade to Jeter as the incumbent team leader in the equation......and the guy that escapes criticism. To me it seems to be a very similar scenario.
