this year's topps tribute really exceeded my expectations. i did zero last year but after seeing the preview of 2012, i set my goal to pick up the onyx and purple 1/1 of a certain player
after reviewing the checklist, and trying not to break the bank, i wanted a hof'er and a player that did not have 2 or 3 variations.
i immediately discounted koufax, griffey, aaron, mays and ryan as they would be costly (although somewhat surprised that ryan purple sold for a few more bucks than the red #/5 version
with that said, i set my sight on two players. ernie banks and schmidt.
luckily, both the onyx and purple popped, and with the sales of my 2 box break of tribute, ended up picking these two up for way less than the price of two boxes  ::facepalm::
so in honor or tomorrow's hunger game movie opening (yes, i like the book. just read it this week. lol!), here's my tribute! (and new sig~)
let's see some of your tribute pickups!!
