I'm just wondering if this patch is real on this Jordan autograph. As far as I know, there were only pieces of regular jersey on these cards. Here is the card in question:

Here is my copy of the card:

I know that Beckett doesn't grade the patches as authentic or not, but I just want some opinions on the $850 it sold for. Thanks for your time,

Jim

My opinion of the one that sold for $850 is, the patch is 100% fake! The seller or previous owner(s) probably figured the card has a faded to hell autograph and only came back a BGS 8.5 and only an 8 for auto grade, so what can they do to try and get more money out of it? Fake the patch.... Sure they could have cracked it out of the case to by pass the low grades on both card and auto, but to most people, they think that once BGS has put it in the holder that the patch MUST be real....

That is one fine auto you have :D The autgraph is very clear, bold and beautiful and the jersey piece is definetly 100% good 8-)

Nothing would surprise me these days......so I can't really be sure.

I was going to say though that it doesn't really look like a "patch".......it looks like multi-color from the collar or something. I don't know about that particular set, but in the past I have gotten multi-color cards like that in sets that did not feature patches. So it's not impossible (or out of the question) to get a silk-screened patch in a card that features "regular jersey's".
