Hay-o, a new NC thread!

So I watched about 10 hours of the DC saga yesterday, live as it happened. On one hand I couldn't believe what I was seeing, but on the other hand, it was no secret that this was coming. This is the inevitable result of coddling, enabling, and making excuses for men like The Donald.

I don't think you killed it, I just haven't been able to post much since it seems my craptop laptop is on its final days. . . I've tried a few fixes but I want new anyways (back to desktop though)

Any ideas of what to buy? I haven't payed attention to the comp market in a while, I don't need anything flashy.

Thanks, I will look into that. Mine is slightly improved atm so it buys me some time to look/learn but I'd like to buy my plan B before this crapper completely dies.

Yeah this is my problem too, the way into this tiny laptops fan is broken so its loud and overheating everything. If you have a desktop though it should be easy to open and clean the fan?

If my computer keeps acting up. I'll do the system restore thingie first, where it resets everything to the manufactures original settings. The computer pretty much does it on it's own. I just have to baby sit while it does. I've don't it before. I don't know much about computers either.

Can you guys get access to your fan in case there's a problem? I would want a laptop that opens up better than this one.


I guess I need to see what creating/storing YT videos requires and only then look at options, but this sounds promising.

My Lenovo is a really thin model, the T470s. It gives me a headache to even think about replacing the fan. Don't get me wrong, I like this machine and it's been reliable as heck (and I even bought it used). But getting inside of it gives me the willies. All these new laptops are so thin, so lightweight, and everything is just jammed in there in the most complicated manner imaginable. I just don't want to work on them.

It's like cars. At one point you could get under the hood, and after tinkering for a while you could probably fix a thing or two. But now? Same thing with computers. Give me an old desktop tower and sure, I can swap out a sound card or a fan, or pretty much anything. But when it comes to the TRON universe that's under my fingers as I type this? Fugghedaboudit.

Its good to know other people have computer fan problems at the very least!

My most annoying problem is the port where you put earbuds in got so hot the piece of metal broke, so I can only listen to things on the craptop speakers and everyone in the room will hear.
