Managed to pick up literally my two grails! They haven't come in yet but I can't stop staring at the pictures, it feels like my collection is near complete. I never would've imagined I'd be at this point. I'm a complete moron for buying these tbh but I couldn't resist, hopefully I can sell a bunch soon and recoup. It's hard to decide what to sell though I've already thinned quite a bit out. Anyone have personal guidelines they follow to determine what they will reluctantly let go of lol?

s-l500.jpgThis is such a great shot, love these type of action cards and especially for this set that is mostly poses and head shots. Lou Brock. As soon as i confirmed this was a certified copy and not a TTM/IP (That is one to easily be fooled by), I hit the BIN.

Recollection type card of Robin Roberts. It's embossed in upper right corner, but very tough to see, even in person.s-l1600-1.jpg

Another blue /25 Archive. Have had lesser success this year getting them in general, but still have racked up a decent number despite prices being higher. I am only getting the bargains though. s-l1600-3.jpg

Are we going to see your additions on this thread or did you forget to mention what they are?

Lots of stuff in the mail today so just some highlights

2001 Topps Albert Pujols RC - His prices are starting to drop post retirement so I've been adding to the stack.
2001 Topps.jpg
1979 Topps Comics Nolan Ryan - I bought a large flat rate full of $1 box stuff cheap from another dealer and he included 24 of 33 of the 1979 Comics so I'll finish it up at some point.

2002 Fleer Classic Cuts Wade Boggs - I'm slowly building the relic set after completing the auto set.

1931 Wills Cinema Stars Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse - This is the first card of Walt and Mickey together on a trading card. I got a great deal on the set and this one is in pretty good shape so it's headed off to SGC in the morning.

The A&G Chrome set only goes to card 300. I believe Garvey is card 333 in the regular A&G set.

Do you have all of the Garvey cards from A&G?
I thought I had all but the 1/1s. Not sure. Been a little less attentive in the last couple years to what is out there.

A slow month in my pursuit of 2021 Topps Finest Purple Pink Vapor Refractors /3 but I was finally able to land one....giving me 52 out of the 100. The seller listed it as an auction and I immediately offered $80.00 which is close to about average for these cards. He declined and I won it for $35.00. I need to work on my patience. The other card is my new side hobby....pursuing the buybacks from the 2007 Topps Finest Set.

There is a great sense of satisfaction, making a fair offer and having it declined, only to win it for a fraction of your offer!

Maz /25. s-l1600-2.jpg

Didn't have his auto and apparently he is not the draw he once was, but he was a silver slugger one year. This was 99 cents!s-l1600-5.jpg

Been busy and let the incoming stack pile up, here's the highlights:

062923-1.jpg
Another McGwire auto to go along with my base auto of him from this set. McGwire and Diaz are /50, Henderson is /150, and Waldichuk is /299.

062923-2.jpg
Some tough '00s cards and a Canseco that is /299 but was tough to find. The Mulder patch/auto and Giambi TOTT are /10. The Eric Chavez auto is one of those sneaky ones where it's numbered/360 but that includes three different versions. They made 256 Lumber, 108 Wall, and only 20 Leather versions of the card. This Leather SP was the last one I needed of the trio. Similar for the 2001 Ball Hoggs Jose Ortiz...it's /75 but 25 of those are the "Boss Hoggs" version I already had, so this one has a print run of 50.

062923-3.jpg
1988 Weis Market Discs McGwire, with a bonus Will the Thrill. I've had trouble tracking down his 1988 and 1989 Weis cards and actually ended up finding this one in a lot.

062923-4.jpg
Lastly some recent Topps parallels, including a 2023 Topps Black Shintaro Fujinami RC 05/72.

Doesn’t that say eNoy Jimenez, not eLoy…

Edit to add: yep @mrmopar, looks like you got a rookie ball SS, not a major leaguer

Sent from my iPhone using Freedom Card Board mobile app
Opps, good catch. Glad it was only a buck! Maybe I need to start wearing my glasses for ebay buying more often. He is still active, but in rookie ball and hitting .105, I don't think this card has any up potential.

You outbid me on the Fujinami. He got his ERA under 10 now!
