Over the past 6 games - 25.3 ppg, 6.3 apg, nearly 3 steals a game and 5 rebounds a game.

could he be the next basketball player to have the Rose/Durant type of price spike?

yes, he is the most primed to jump. Exactly the style of play that the hobby loves.

I think it'll happen only if they start winning. Rose and Durant only both really popped when they had a good deal of team success. Need that factor of "Wow he's really leading his team to wins!". The stats alone won't do it.

Being one of the worst teams in the entire league sure won't help. Most of the active greats like Duncan, Garnett, Durant, James and Kobe have team success.

The Cavs have 15.6m coming off the books after this season. They have Irving, Waiters and Thompson as young core pieces that should continue to develop. They are currently on pace to be favored for the 2nd overall pick in the draft.

They have a major trade piece in Varejao, who could be worth something like Jeremy Lamb and Toronto's first round pick from OKC (as of right now the 6th pick in the draft).

So I agree, winning is a huge part of the price spike but we could see a quick turnaround for the Cavs if the team does well in the draft, makes good use of their money in free agency, and Irving make the leap.

On the whole, I agree with that.

However, this post was mainly in reference to his hobby presence, which I personally think that even though it's already significant could really take off this year if he continues to average 25 5 and 5
