We're off work this week due to shutdown (Its a paid week of va-ca(damn UAW
))
So we decided to make the 100 mile trek to Louisville, KY to see the Louisville Slugger Museum.
To those who have never been, GO!
It's very inexspensive ($18 total for 2 adults and a 7 & 3 yr old), right in downtown Louisville, KY.

Once inside, you can view life size figures of Ruth, Williams, Jeter & Griffey Jr.

Go through the actual bat making shop, see the raw wood turned on the lathes, roll press the logo-name-size, dipped in stain-clearcoat, dry and package up for shipment. No photos allowed in the shop.
We watched them make bats for BJ Upton on a special CNC Lathe (only one in the world).
The tour was about 35 minutes (kinda short) but well worth it.
At the end of the tour, everyone got a free small bat made out in the shop.
They have a special area for a baseball lego display. Lego pic of Joey Votto and Wrigley Field.

For the Yount and Biggio fans I snapped these below.

My son below taking a stance with an actual game used Joey Votto bat.

After the tour and browse through the gift shop, we went to Louisville Slugger Field to take in a Cincy Reds AAA affiliate Louisville Bats baseball game.
Great game and comeback by the Bats. Fantastic stadium, right in downtown Louisville. We passed by it and didn't know it. It looks just like a regular office building on the outside. Great parking with easy in and out. $30 total for 2 adults and 2 kids to sit on right field side of play with great view of 95% of the field.
All in all, great trip to Louisville, KY.
