I got my Sweet Spot Mel Ott GU Bat SP card in today, which completes the GU portion of the set. I had already completed the autograph set from 07 classic, so now I am officially done withboth teh base auto and gu sets! Here are a few of my favorites!

On the GU side, some super-tough SP's:

And of course the big boys from the GU Set

And some of my favorite autos:

Scans of everything can be found in my bucket for those who are interested! Thanks for looking!

That Gehrig swatch is great, and as a childhood fan of Harold Baines, it's nice to see him in that company...albeit out of place.

The Baines actually cost me more than the Gehrig and Ruth! It is one of the toughest SP's in the set - I think the Baines set me back $170, while I got the Gehrig for 80ish! I lucked out on the Ruth and snagged it before UD released that it is a SP - otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to afford it now :)

There is something fundamentally unjust about a Baines card going for double of Gehrig...

Congrats Rob

Lol -I won't disagree with you there, although I was totally thrilled when I finally won that Baines - I remembered getting out-bid a couple of times at 150-160. Set collectors are indeed crazy!

What a beautiful set. Congrats on finishing. What was your total time to finish?

Took me just about 1 full year - the autos were a piece of cake - the only SP was the Koufax. The GU set was way harder!

whats up with the pee wee reese?

There were 5 or 6 SPs in the set that are really tough to track down and sell anywhere from $50 to 200+. The Reese is one of em - they usually go in the 50-70 range from what I had seen when I was looking for it!

Congrats and nice job. I can't believe that Baines went for $170...are there like only 5 of them?
