It looks like Ryan Howard might be blowing it. In 5 at bats last night, all Howard could muster was a first inning ground out and 4 base hits. Reynolds used the game as an opportunity to cash in on Howard's misfortunes, putting up an 0-3 night with 2 Ks. No need to fear, though...both are still on pace to break the single season strikeout record of 199 set by Howard last year.

As it stands now, Howard leads Reynolds 190-189. Howard only has 11 games left, while Reynolds has 12.

So who ya got?

Both of them should be completely ashamed.

If only Justin Upton was healthy all season...

Howard will Keep his record and break it again.

If he continues hitting at his current pace, I"m sure Howard will be really upset as he adds another MVP to his mantle.
   You could be right but we'll have to see that one.

At least Howard is actually good. Too bad Reynolds just sucks.

I can't wait til Travis Snider is giving Howard a run for his money.

I remember when this was Adam Dunn's yearly title, it was nice of him to let Howard have the record and let him win the yearly title 2 years in a row!

I have to believe it's going to be Ryan Howard. He's already got three 100+ strikeout years under his belt coming into the season, so he's got a little bit more game-tested, proven experience. But Reynolds does have the higher career K-rate(36.5% of his AB), just edging Howard (33.5%). The young guy may put up a fight, but I have to believe Howard is going to finish up strong and defend his title in record-breaking style!

I have to go with Arizona's own Special K.
I swear, if he changes the attitude just a little (before the season, he said Mark Reynolds just needs to be Mark Reynolds and didn't work too much to improve his swing), he would be a great player. I also wish he had a little more time (aka anytime at all) in AAA.
