My gut is screaming out to me that this isn't right somehow.

I am going to conceal the identities for now, as I am unsure if there are any legal issues sharing an ebay user name and mailing address on a public forum, especially if I have no proof there is any wrong doing happening. If you are sharp, or even somewhat dull, you might still be able to determine the seller with a little effort.

i have had my doubts in the past, but had bought a few things anyway. It feels too good to be true though, and you know what that means. I forgot about this seller for a while but was just brought back into the fold. I have kept my exposure to a minimum, so if these cards turned out to be fake, I was not losing my life savings on them. On the flip side, this could just be a weird deal, but legit. Here is the story. If there are any part time sleuths that want to dig deeper, it might be worth while. There are several red flags here and overall just screams of a weird vibe..

Ebay seller has 100% positive feedback. They are listed as being located in the Philippines, consigning for someone in the US, according to their listings. I could see a military person, retiree or someone who just happens to work in the PI having someone stateside sell their stuff for them. Not completely out of the realm of possibility.
All of the cards that i can recall seeing listed by this seller either had a Goldin COA or were Fleer/Ultra cards that were from the 1990s pack inserted sets. Drexler, Gwynn, Johnson, Oates, Pippen, etc. They all have the Fleer embossed stamp. However, we alsoknow historically that Goldin COAs are not always golden! I have always wondered if during fleer bankruptcy/liquidation, any stamp machines didn't happen to make their way into private hands.

So we have a seller in the PI who is selling US goods and will only ship to the US. Could this be a way to avoid some fraud charges if this was illegitimate? Seller in a foreign country has no responsibility for consignment sales in the US and nothing ships outside of the US. Maybe nothing, maybe something?

Here is where it gets weirder. The shipping label has an address in Chula Vista, CA but packages are being sent into the USPS system in Chandler, AZ per the tracking. What could be a reasonable purpose for this? This is where coincidence and oddness start to turn into downright unexplainable. If youy are shipping from AZ and it gets returned, it goes to CA? Why ship from AZ with a CA return address?

Final oddity is that the sender is not using a full name. It's a first name and "DY" as a "last name". Not completely weird, as many businesses use their company names and people will often abbreviate or even leave off names on return labels, but added to the rest of the story it just makes it seem weirder.

I really hope this is just someone who collected or came into a large collection of valuable signed cards and i am just being paranoid, but more and more I am thinking that this is in fact too good to be true.

Feel free to share your thoughts, call me crzy or whatever.

If you pulled any mid 90s Fleer autos and can confirm the pack certified stamping at the time, would love to see what they look like. I have seen a number of different stamp designs, even close to their bankruptcy, so hard to say if there was any funny play going on with those or not.
