Looooooosiana!
Urshela's signature looks like how my four year old writes his name lol

It is always interesting to see who has a beautiful autograph (Mickey Mantle) versus who has an ugly autograph.

When I see something like that, I often assume foreign born player who may not have done a traditional "signature". I think of one in particular, Oscar Robles. You are probably familiar, as he was drafted by Houston and appeared on a Signature Rookie card before heading over to the Dodgers. I have a couple TTM/IP autos that show a lot more flair. Perhaps they are fake or perhaps he just developed an American signature. The SR card is almost laughable, but I praise it for being a legit certified auto that I could add to my Dodgers auto collection. That doesn't mean the family's 11 year old neighbor didn't actually sign the cards though!

We have to remember that a lot of the Latino players have had little formal education and some cannot sign their names very well (if at all), when they arrive in the US

Correct and rereading my post, I didn't mean to imply that the near printed signature was laughable because of the players ability (or lack thereof) to sign. It is more that the traditional signature we in the US have come to expect is cursive, which is definitely a lost art now, and many of these foreign born players may have never learned as you said. Technically it is still their official "signature" though, until it changes.

I always hesitate to buy an autograph of a player before they actually make an appearance for the Astros. Jesse Crain is my prime example. He was brilliant in Spring Training, got hurt at the very end of Spring Training, and never actually pitched for us. I do have his auto, but it turned out to be for nothing lol
