Thanks. Not really fun sinking thousands of dollars into stuff just going to sit in my safe, just trying to be a responsible dad. I have 3 kids to send through college. I figure investing in vintage has to be better then just throwing money in safe. Most of these guys are dead so they can't mess up and destroy their legacy. In my mind, solid investment!

Love the vintage pickups. Where do you buy from typically?

Very nice vintage! We have a vintage thread going. Please share your vintage there, too!

You have some great stuff there. One can never go wrong with vintage because this stuff is available in a lesser quantity than most modern cards ever will be. Just a word of advice and please do not think I am raining on your parade. I am a collector of vintage and that is all I collect and have done so for 40+ years. If you are buying vintage for investment purposes, you will want to buy the highest grade and best example of the card you can afford. Vintage, such as the cards you purchased will hold and increase in value but at a much much slower rate that high quality vintage. Most times it is better to sink your money into one very high grade star card (you will probably want to go with graded on investment quality cards) instead of buying several lesser grades if...and I emphasize IF, you are doing this for investment purposes. Me, personally, I love the stuff you bought and would be perfectly happy with adding any of these cards to my collection. The Johnson Mecca Double Folder is one that is a great addition to any collection.

Please take my words as how they are offered to you. I am just trying to avoid extreme disappointment when your ROI does not come back as expected when it is time to send your children to college. Many of us who thought they were going to send kids to college or buy that dream car based on the "investment" of some vintage cards we bought had our hopes dashed because the collector grade cards we bought did nothing more than just get our money back.

McHenry, thanks for the advice!

JC mint, you mean the thick screws downs? I've never heard this, how would they "cause moisture"?

Zan, all picked up in person locally.

Dano, I will post my stuff in the vintage thread, I have seen your items, they dominate the thread!

I don't like those bulky cases myself, but I have seen the results of cards in them being damaged. From what I have seen, it was more that the cards were not sleeved first (his are) and that the case was screwed down tight and some moisture was introduced to the case somehow. I personally would feel 100 times more secure if the cards were penny sleeved first, as they are here, but if you are personally aware of damage that is likely to occur to the cards as you see them here, please advise.

I like the big cases a lot, I think they enhance the card in person, but I would be interested in knowing any issues they could cause?
