Halladay is struggling early with more base runners than usual and a fielding error. Looks like Kershaw is cruising so far.

Halladay
3 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 1 ER, 4 K

Kershaw
2 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 ER, 3 K

Halladay is flustered right now with Joe West and the home plate umpire. I've never seen someone get under his skin. It is pretty interesting.

Halladay still doesn't look like himself but he got through two more innings unscathed.

Halladay
5 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Not watching the game, but Kershaw looks to be really dealing

Hate the Dodgers but Kershaw should win it. When he has the curveball going, he's practically un-hittable.

Kershaw with a shutout through 5 innings.

Yep, Kershaw is dealing. Halladay and Kershaw were pretty close coming in, but today is going to tip the CY Young in Kershaw's favor.

Halladay got pulled, though he still has a chance to win with the Phillies having 2 runners on base and behind by one.

Halladay
6 IP, 9 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K

Kershaw is dominating with 9 Ks and 84 pitches through 6 innings.

Kershaw
6 IP, 5 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9K

Funny how a poor outing for Halladay is a quality start

Re: NL Cy Young Watch - Kershaw and Halladay 9/4

Braves tie it up, 3-3 off Kershaw. Updated line. He's most likely done sitting at 115 pitches. With two runners on, he could still get a win,

7 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 10 K

Phils took the lead for Halladay, but then the Marlins tied it up, so he gets a no decision.

I guess that is why Kershaw never pitches more than 6 innings.

You are a complete and total [strike:xqlgx2vp]idiot[/strike:xqlgx2vp] *******!!! Kershaw has 5 complete games, tied for 2nd with Cliff Lee. AND, has the most innings pitched.

Kershaw pitched a hell of a game, his defense really let him down. But hey, Braves got a Win. Ill take it

Kershaw averages 7 innings per start.
Yup, Kershaw has really improved in that area this season, after struggling earlier in his career. IMO that's been one of the biggest factors in his developing into a legit ace. He's cut down on his BB's and pitches per at bat in general, and that has allowed him to pitch much further into games.

I have been extremely happy all year that his BB/9 were down. With how good his curveball is and the fact he has a good fastball as well, once he learned to control his pitches, I knew the sky would be the limit for him.

I think he becomes the #1 SP in the NL next year and fights Verlander for #1 in all of baseball. I just hope the Dodgers find some way to put a great team around him so he can experience some late October baseball.

Re: NL Cy Young Watch - Cliff Lee 9/5

Cliff Lee needs another big start to stay in the conversation. So far so good with a shutout after 4 innings.
