I know there are a few of us who collect Bobby Doerr and I thought it would be cool to show pick ups of the oldest living Hall of Famer.
Even if you don't actively collect him, post what you've got, it's always cool to see his cards.

Hey this my kind of thread.

Love that 12' Prime Cuts auto, James! Haven't seen that one before.



Seeing all these nice Doerrs might force me to continue on my collection....haven't added to it in a little over a year but I'll have to keep an eye out for nice Doerrs I can add. If anyone finds an affordable 1938' Goudey Heads Up BLANK background #258, please let me know!

I wrote to him TTM a couple years ago. I sent 2 index cards and a questionaire (thought it would be cool to have one from him).

He signed the index cards and then swapped the questionare for a HOF postcard.

It's still one of my favorite successes. I love writing to the old time players.

Two new Doerr cards found their way home yesterday.

The Cooperstown Signatures has been selling for more than I would have though but I guess people just aren't busting it because I haven't seen that many copies so far.

And another #1/1 for the collection, bringing me to 17 different #1/1s.

Thanks for looking and I'm loving seeing some sweet cards in this thread.
