Hey guys...with 2010 topps chrome taking a dump right now, what do you think will happen to the price of 2010 bowman chrome on the secondary market? IMO, I believe this happened because way too many people want to "be a dealer" and speculated Stras would have a monster year and when he went down, all these people who overextended trying to make a quick buck like with 2010 bowman, needed to pay their bill and recoup ASAP.

All these speculators who came out of the woodwork on 2010 Chrome trying to sit on wax and then resell weeks later at a huge profit are part of the major reason Topps Chrome is in the toilet. Originally the auto checklist looked GREAT with only 24, and then the orders came in SO HEAVY, topps had to dilute the CL and put 49.

Just curious what everyone thinks will happen.

Also, does Stras have an auto in this 2010 chrome product---he's not on the CL? Finally, why did so many guys from the original CL get changed to other players (i.e. Tim Beckham and others)? Are they still razor exclusive?

I no longer trust Topps and as a result will need ot see multiple cases busted before I can answer this. It appears to be a strong product, but so did TOpps Chrome at one ponit

Tim Beckham and the other Razor exclsuives have since been removed from this list last i was told

Let's not confuse the two brands: 2010 Topps Chrome is nothing like 2010 Bowman Chrome. In fact, I can't remember Topps Chrome being comparable to Bowman Chrome since, what, 2005?

My point is, the changes Topps made to 2010 TC doomed the product as soon as the company decided to respond to the pre-order demand. Topps upped production and by doing so added more autographs of players that happened to be, for the most part, undesirable. They didn't use Posey or Alvarez but instead threw in Nova and Ely. But Topps could only use players who fell within the "RC Logo" guidelines so it wasn't like they had a huge crop of talent to choose from. Remember, 2010 Topps Chrome started with the likes of Austin Jackson, Jason Heyward, Mike Leake; rising stars as far as the 2010 season was concerned.

It seems likely that BC orders were just as great (if not more so) than TC, but since BC can contain non-major league prospects there's a possibility that, even if production is increased and the auto checklist is expanded, the players used will be legitimate, desirable prospects. Because as far as we know, Strasburg is the only RC Logo autograph in 2010 Bowman Chrome.

In the case of 2010 BC, we still don't know if Topps decided to keep the presses running or simply shut out distributors clamoring for more cases. All we know is the release date has been pushed, which is par for the course.

But don't be surprised if Topps screws the pooch again this year, because they're on fire. You'll be hoping they send out gold refractors for the empty Bowman Chrome wrappers you save.

Oh and I only clicked on your thread because you used "L@@K" so keep doing that because it really works.
