I shy away from certain teams but if there is somebody way under priced I will still buy.

(cough) Maybin (cough)

;)

I invested in Maybin when he was a Tiger, and sold 3 white autos recently.

Now that he is a Marlin, I am skeptical about his overall value, even if he plays well.

Don't you own any Cutch, Adam? I saw the Pirates were also on your no-no list.

Considering i've done pretty well as a team prospector for one of the worst minor league organizations in baseball I'd say there is money to be made from any team.

I own one Cutch card, by default - 2004 AFLAC Auto, part of my set.

To break down the teams I listed....

KC Royals - NONE
PIT Pirates - 1, Cutch AFLAC auto
WAS Nationals (mainly their pitchers) - Derek Norris, Chris Marrero
SD Padres - NONE
FLA Marlins - 2, Maybin Whites BGS 9
COL Rockies (Pitchers only) - NONE, only hitters (Nelson + Fowler)

Chacin is going to prove you guys wrong about Colorado pitchers....I hope :)

I like him and I agree with you that he's something special, but once a pitcher is called up/ traded to/ acquired by Colorado, you might as well just go ahead and add a full run to their ERA.

My choice is the one about timing.

I can't imagine not owning a solid prospect simply because he plays for a small market team or a team with very little winning history or a team that has not had success in the past with draft picks...which are the teams being listed and avoided.

Why has nobody mentioned the Devil Rays? Small market, non-existent fan base, no success until this year. But even before this year, you could not deny the talent of their farm system.
