So many reasons this is a horrible move, not even getting to the fact that we gave up draft picks for him.

It was nice being world champs. So much for a dynasty. Take care, Pat. Good luck in KC.

Too much money for Ibanez, similar to when Adrian Beltra signed with Seattle.

I totally think this is a great move. If they can't have Burrell, Ibanez is a good fit. He's been the third or fourth most productive outfielder over the last three years.

Yes, more so than Burrell.

Wow.. you guys sure did get the short end of the stick on that one so to speak.

That first video is hillarious.. the second one, oh man. I've seen that many times over the years. While I liked Ibanez, I wish he was a DH but he wanted to be in LF and the team felt his slow speed out there was good enough because he kept going out there. The guy has offense, but defense which is what a LF should have.. he's missing that part.

We were certainly not gonna bring him back at that price, thanks for the draft picks :D

Ibanez continue to put up good numbers if a tough hitters ballpark and get no respect.

He is so underated people fail to mention him when the "Most underrated players" thread comes up on this or any other board

I've always liked Raul Ibanez. His defense is sub par but that bat is so underrated. He will do good in that lineup.

On a side note, it's a good step towards rebuilding the Mariners. With Reed and Ibanez gone, it looks like we can put Balentien in left and our highly touted prospect CF Adam Jones in Center Fie....OWAIT. Erik Bedard says hi.

Hahaha...nice lines, hook - line - sinker!!! Would still prefer we kept Jones and Sherill, especially with Putz gone. Balentien would be great if he wasn't a 4 year rookie due to injuries...hopefully we can do better than the Nationals this year ;)

Yeah maybe you can draft more relievers and not sign them.

I'll be okay with this signing as long as they upgrade their pitching by signing someone like Lowe in tandem with this move.

10 million/yr doesn't get you much these days. 10 mil for a guy who hits aroun .290 with 100 RBI's is pretty good.

Sweet, now Zduriencik gets the #2, 21 and 28 picks in the 2008 draft, plus a supp. 1st rounder and the 2nd pick in the 2nd round, not to mention the 2nd pick in every subsequent round. Let the rebuilding continue! Just looking at BA's Top 100, I'm imagining a 1st round haul of Grant Green, Kentrail Davis and Bobby Borchering(I'll settle for Matt Davidson). I think I may need to invest in a fainting couch.
