Recommendations on good baseball books??

One of my absolute favorite baseball books is "The Glory of Their Times" by Lawrence Ritter

3 Night In August - About Tony Larussa managing, in depth during a 3 game series against the cubs. GREAT BOOK

I forget the name of the book it is by Joshua Praiger, It has to do with the giants stealing signs from the dodgers during the 51 series and how supposedly Bobby Thompson knew the pitch was coming. I forget the name. But its another great book. If you like old time baseball, i think it would be worth the read.

How about a book about a prewar player who spent some time on the Red Sox.

He also happened to be a WWII spy.

Check out "Moe Berg, Athlete, Scholar, Spy"

It's a book about one of the most amazing people to ever play baseball.

(Unrelated, but it's high time that Berg had a cut auto card made.)

(Unrelated, but it's high time that Berg had a cut auto card made.)

Moe Berg was a very interesting fella...I'm sure that would be a good read.

I wish some publisher would reprint these or make them available digitally

David Halberstram is a great author. Summer is a great book

Totally read "Shoeless Joe" the book Field of Dreams was based on.

By W.P. Kinsella.....

Here is some irony for you if I can remember.....

In Field of Dreams the main character played by Kevin Costner is Ray Kinsella. The book Shoeless Joe was written by W.P. Kinsella. In the book Shoeless Joe the author character, played as Terrance Mann in the movie is written as J.D. Salanger. J.D. Salanger wrote "Catcher in the Rye" a classic. The main character in "Catcher In the Rye" is Holden Caulfield....his classmate.....Richard Kinsella.
