I've always used my scanner exclusively when scanning my cards for either my collection or ebay, until now. We just bought a new digital camera (canon g12) for taking baby pictures, but I decided to give it a try for some cards as well. Do you prefer the standard scan or do these pics do the card more justice?

Thoughts or prefer the a regular scan?

Well, the camera gives GU cards depth - which is great, however a good CCD scanner will do the same. I still prefer a nice scan, over an SLR picture.

You should try out a still-life with some of your cards - I think they'd look sweet with a few complimentary household pieces.

Most people seem to use their crappy cell phone camera for their photos. Obviously if you know how to take a photo, a camera is ok. That rules out about 90% of people who do use cameras for photos of cards.

Yeah, my scanner has been down for a few days so I tried taking a picture on my phone and it was... well awful. So I was happy to see how these came out.
