Before I became interested in prospecting, I started with vintage, it got me into the hobby like it did many others.

I know there not anything special but these are some of my favorite vintage cards in my collection

Is that really an SGC 10 or (1)

it looks pretty good.

Yeah, it apparently used to have a home in someones scrap book at some time so there is some paper loss on the back. I'm not too concerned with it though as the eye appeal of the front is great. No creases/wrinkles/scratches/etc.

Yes, I know the pic below isn't exactly what it's "graded" as, but it's still vintage!

I have many more (including the Mantle collection) that I used to own but recently had to sell. They're in the Photobucket under "Once Owned" if anyone's interested.

I love this set. I'd be curious to know why they put a T207 into a T206 buyback frame though.

I thought the same thing, but I couldn't argue having pulled it out of 4 loose packs from the local dealer (crazy long odds, IIRC).

You've got that right! Would they have gone so far as to make this some special buyback insert within the regular buyback insert?

I think it's pretty cool. It gives people exposure to another tobacco set that is not nearly as well known as the T205 and T206. I don't think Topps could get away with doing a T207 issue set like they do with the T206. The T207's are in their own special niche IMO. I considered gunning for a set at one time and then realized I wouldn't have the patience for it.

fantastic thread - I love when folks show off their vintage. Apologies in advance if I'm showing off too many.

Here is an example from each of my three vintage Superbas/Dodgers sets that I'm working on:

Vintage didn't start my collecting but it's certainly the direction I'm heading. Mostly pre war right now but I plan to pick up some 50s & 60s stuff as well.
