.....Matt Moore Gold Ref Auto.

Even #01/50 (BGS 9/10), which sold last week, didn't go for that much.

...and $8 shipping.

That includes full insurance

And I'm guessing signature confirmation.

Just ran the numbers.... $1.95 Shipping + $8.15 for $560 Insurance + $2.55 Signature Confirmation = $12.65
Even without Sig. Conf. the seller is losing $2. But the $560 selling price makes up for it.

Everything is starting to go crazy for most of the players that have at least a decent-sized following of people who think the player is going to have good season this year. It's a fun time of year if you have stashes of any of those guys.

Exactly right.

It also creates a situation of "when to sell". Probably the toughest part of prospecting for me, when to let go.

Very true. I'm having that dilemma with a couple of guys right now, with the biggest one being Mike Stanton. I already have the ability to turn a huge profit on what I have (and have on a few), but I happen to be in the camp that he is going to have a monster season so it's tough to decide whether to take the profit while I know I can or to hold out and see where they go.

The same has to be said about most of the top prospects too...do you take advantage of the hype and sell now? Or do you hold out into the season and hope they actually put up the numbers to back the hype? Tough call.

Are you implying something nefarious went on with that card?

Nefarious? I doubt Joe is inferring that. Just that the card was probably sent in with a minimum grade 9.5 and it probably came back ungraded. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Joe.

I have a personal rule that if I can double my money, it's time to sell, especially when a pitcher is involved. I don't always sell everything, but if I have 10-20 autos of a player, I start listing when prices double. I feel like I have more time to wait and see w/ position players, but pitchers are sooooo dangerous....
