I say they trade Anthony for 2 really good role players and a 1st round pick...when Amare comes back, he can run the show with Chandler and Lin.

How about Carmelo to the Blazers for Jamal Crawford, Gerald Wallace and the 1st rounder.

As a Knicks fan, I would rather trade Amare than Carmelo. Maybe a package of Amare and Douglas for Dwight Howard. Works for both teams. Knicks get rid of Amare and Douglas which they dont need, gain obviously a great player in Howard. Magic get a PG, which they really need, and Amare. Alot better than just holding Howard until he signs elsewhere and gets nothing.

I would laugh if the Knicks ended up trading Melo. After giving up the house for him last year.

He is the only reason people were still talking about the Knicks before Lin. You really have faith in Chandler and Amare? Either way the Knicks will just be a speed bump in the Eastern playoffs.

Well that doesn't make sense. Trading one albatross for another.

Knicks do need Melo. With Lin, Melo and Amare the Knicks have a possible big 3 they have been wanting by adding a CP3... but Lin is a ton cheaper. Lin is smart... he knows his points will drop a little... but 10-15 assists per game is highly possible once all 3 are back.

Gee, let's trade Carmelo so the Knicks have virtually no proven player who can create their own shot.

The Knicks aren't dealing Carmelo. Period.

A a New Yorker would say, "BE REAL SON!"

Knicks don't have a chance come playoff time, melo comes back up, messes everything up and knicks lose out and miss the playoffs...guarantee..mark it down...or worse case scenario...i'm wrong and then they lose in the first round, pick your poison knick fan...

I think Carmelo will adjust just fine to Carmelo.

Hell, Carmelo is the REASON Lin got a chance in the first place. He convinced D'Antoni to put him in (the night he exploded). Lin is grateful to Carmelo and knows he will step his game up.

As for you two idiots arguing, take it some place else.

OUDucksfan, that team has turned around COMPLETELY. With a healthy and motivated Carmelo, that team is a legitimate threat in the East. Only team with as much front court talent is Chicago and they CAN compete with Miami.

I wholeheartedly believe they WILL make the playoffs and WILL see the 2nd rd. Unless Orlando or Atlanta falter, they are fighting with the Celtics to play Miami or Chicago. Either series WILL be fantastic.

It's not that hard to beat the Lakers when they are on the road so stop reading into that so much. The Knicks will go nowhere in the Eastern Playoffs unless they get everyone healthy and gell as a team.

The Knicks clearly have all the pieces they need to be a Eastern Conference Champions. They are going to be a force in the playoffs. Are they going to win? Depends on how they gel, as you say.

Obviously Chicago and Miami are better teams right now. But that's now. They have 30+ games to figure it out. It doesn't matter what seed they are in the playoffs, they just need to get there.
