Just a thread to chat on our Braves.

I'll start. With the yanks also pursuing Burnett, Wren better find a way to get the Peavy deal done before he spents $100 million on A.J Burnett????

2009 is a lost cause.

I see us getting Randy Wolf. No need to overpay for something that won't do us any good. I don't want to trade a bunch of kids either as a panic move. Injuries have hurt us

I know I'm in the minority- but I think we did fine with the Flowers trade. Vasquez will fill up nicely for a 2/3.

I'm hoping this is not the case, but I see 2009's starting rotation like this:

Vasquez, Jurrjens, Wolf, Campillo, Morton. Jo-Jo and Hanson will be in AAA waiting for one of these clowns to fall apart.

If we don't land Wolf, push everyone up a spot and put Jo-Jo at 5

If Smoltz comes back I don't think he'll be able to go into the rotation from the begining. Maybe by September we'll have him and Hudson back, but neither are a given

It would look better like this:

Burnett, Vasquez, JJJ, Campillo, Morton

2010 would look f-ing stellar like:

Burnett, Hudson, JJJ, Hanson, <fill in the blank>

braves2008champs- I dunno, locking up peavy for that long could be worth it.
gilmore- I agree completely.

That's a AAA rotation. Our batting line-up is AAAA at best. Too many "needs to have a great year" (ie. Frency, Kotchman, OUTFIELD!) players scattered throughout, not to mention Chipper and McCann will only play in 120 games each. 2009 is going to be a year like 1989.

BTW...braves2008champs - I keep mening to ask. who's the chick in your avatar and why are we not seeing larger photos of her. This thread seems the appropriate spot for them.

i still have to disagree with you, he is a horrible pitcher that is at the end of his career, calling him decent would be overdoing it.

cute is what we aim for is my favorite band.

Who agrees with me that Wren is an idiot? Trade 7 tops players for Tex then trade him for Kotchman and a guy that I can't remeber his name. Then goes flowers for a mediocre pitcher at best. What's next???
