I am going to look at an asserted raw Michael Jordan Fleer Rookie today.
I think I have a good handle on printing and I am going to bring my jewelers diamond loop.
Any additional thoughts or help from those that have purchased an MJ rookie before would be greatly appreciated though!
Thanks!

A few of the ways to detect a fake that I know of, the borders and lettering must be solid. No ink jet matrixing or dots. The eyes of the bull on the reverse must be sharp and distinct, once again a dead giveaway since all known fakes haven't been able to replicate the detail in a real card. The lettering and the fonts have also been giveaways, study a real card to know about this. Another tip off to a fake is many of them have the word "Premier" in a orange-ish color banner under the "Fleer" crown on the front right corner instead of a bright yellow. Also the "Logoman" on the reverse and the trademark "r" underneath it should be fully in the pink area. A lot of fakes have the "r" run over into the white border area beneath the pink. It would be worth the peace of mind to pay the premium to get a BGS, PSA, or SGC graded copy.

The real ones have the orange-ish tail on the yellow flag/banner the fake ones are solid yellow on both parts.
