Topps "1/1" rant...

Topps doesn't care.. they know they goofed, in fact it was confirmed that there are 21 of each of the RC guys in the set, each of these below, yea 21 of each of the 3 cards. I stopped buying them after the number released was made public by Beckett. btw, each of these 1/1's has the Topps sticker on the back.

oh and then there's this one..

If I would have won the Tulowitzki A&G wood 1/1 for $200+ and got it in with a bic pen hand written 1/1 on the back...I would have been hot.

that is the REASON i did not bid on the miggy wood "1/1"


not only no sticker, but the guy hafd a scan of the back and it was not even numbered 1/1 with a bic pen

nothing saying 1/1

i asked the seller and he said he really did not know either, said maybe cuz it was the extended wood mini

either way BOOOO

why would that stop you from buying it?

the allure of the wood is the 1/1


it said no 1/1 anywhere on it, i can probabaly get a scan if i can findy

[Yep, there are 4 1/1 plates for every color. I have 2 of the same grandersons. I think both yellow.

You have two of the same printing plate? Would it be possible to see a scan?

Sterling wasn't too much of a problem for me, Rickey made the set but I couldn't afford the cards so... No big deal! The good news was there were incredibly few cards #24/xx in the set, only the base and white suede, and they weren't too expensive.

Great to be seen! I'm excited to sell them, I just don't know when to do it. I think the buzz is dying down, I should have been more prepared in case he signed with the Yankees but I didn't think he'd do it. Went and sold out on me. sniffle.

Thanks! The sad part is how only about 10 of them are in my Rickey Henderson collection, too expensive most of the time.

Anymore... Before he won the Cy Young, back when he was just the Indians ace, there weren't too many people collecting him. Maybe he was never a scrub, but his lack of hobby love made him nice and affordable to collect. :mrgreen:

Kind of hard to argue that Jason Jennings isn't a scrub though! I don't mind though, I collect him for fun and wouldn't want to pay more. Kinda sucks how he is rarely ever in a set outside of regular topps though.

Wow. At least before they could say it was one plate per variation (base, black, blue, red), but now with 5 of the same plates who knows.

And this is why I stopped focusing on player collecting. It's hard enough to keep up if they are doing things well, but with all of these "errors" it is impossible.

Topps and UD both stopped caring when all competition was killed.

yeah I gave up trying to get Ozzie's Jersey Numbered cards. I have a few, but him wearing 1 doesn't help since that one usually sells for double.
