I'm just curious what you all think about Lawson, both as an NBA PG and as major player in the card collecting hobby... Now that he's been given a shot to be the Nuggets point guard of the future and has had decent success, do you think he has what it takes to be a star, and if so will he be someone to hop on the collecting bandwagon now before his card prices skyrocket?

Being a diehard Nuggets fan since Dikembe rolled around on the ground making out with a basketball after beating the Sonics in the playoffs a long time ago, I'm a bit of a homer when it comes to Nuggets players, hence the reason I'd like to get your unbiased opinions. I recently bought this Lawson RC for $400 (the bv at the time was $150, and is now up to $200) not only cause it's one of the sickest patch cards I've seen, but because I think he's on the brink of collecting/NBA stardom.

What are your thoughts? Stud or am I off my rocker?

The Lawson patches out of that set were a box of suck, so among the patches available in that set for Lawson, you did well. That might be the nicest Lawson patch I have seen from that set. I think I may have seen one nicer upon release but most were yucky.

That being said, this card is a pretty big risk at that price even though it's numbered to /25. Is he going to beat out Ray Felton or will Denver have a timeshare at point? The timeshare seems to be working pretty well.

I would like it a lot more at $300 or even $325. Stephen Curry /99 and Brandon Jennings /99 are around $400 and are better buys in my opinion, and if you were to spend $150 more, you could get a Tyreke Evans /99. But you have a couple of things working in your favor: Collison and Beaubois patches are rapidly looking like they won't be produced, so people will be looking around for places to spend $$$, and 2010-2011 doesn't necessarily have the star power that would shrink the market for your card.
