Value question…97 Topps Embossed Gold Refractor

Was looking through some stuff and discovered I have two of these. Might as well sell one, especially if I can get some decent money for it.

Anyone got an idea what I should list it for/what a fair offer for it would be?

There is one on COMC for $7.75. There seems to be a fair amount of players available out there, so seems about right. Strike that, those are regular golds, not the refractor. I have no idea.

I would assume that one would fall under the "worth what someone will pay" category. Conine was a fan favorite type player and may have some cult followers, but he is not an A list player. That means the set and type card buyers would likely be the ones driving the prices on that specific subset of cards. I am not really up to speed on most of the 90s insert prices anymore and would probably be shocked at what some of them actually sell for, so my guess would be on outdated information.

If you are going to set up an ebay BIN/BO listing, you can always set a high price and see what offers come back. The BO feature is great when sellers price things within the reasonable neighborhood of value, but since sellers and buyers can often be miles apart, it doesn't work as well as you'd think it might in those extreme cases. I've heard both sides when offers are in play, complaining about either the too high asking prices to start, rejection of what are described as "reasonable" offers or the too low offer complaints of sellers. A lot of people just don't want the hassle of possibly offending and getting a snide response back, so they won't even send an offer. That is counterproductive.
