Those Christmas packs are notoriously faked. If that were real, it'd be graded.

I've handled hundreds of "Christmas" hobby packs over the decades. These packs WERE NOT issued by Topps, rather a third-party vendor. Additionally, several early collectors created their own rack packs. The cards generally found in these packs grade around EX-MT. The good news though is that these cards are original and unaltered. Moreover, I have read of people pulling stars (Mantle, Mays, etc.) from packs where stars are not necessarily showing.

I too have never seen these from 53' especially with the Mantle..Does anyone know what that Mantle usually sells for?? I'm not interested in this auction, but was very curious to see if this Christmas pack was actually worth the money?? Or was just sticking that Mantle on the front a way too get more money because of the Mantle?? Anyone??

I have seen first hand a counterfeit Mantle pulled from a Christmas rack, so I am not sure they are all original and unaltered.

I remember seeing one with 1961 cards, with Tracy Stallard and Roger Maris facing each other in adjacent packs. Thought that was amusing.

These were NEVER made in the 50's.. Just mid-late 60's
These labels and staple locations as well as the plastic seams are WAY off. This is NOT legit. I wouldn't even place money on that Mantle being real either... Stay fa fa awayyyy
