Website Image Background Poll.

I am taking new pictures for my Archives Website and I need to come up with a background behind the card.
In Test #1 it's the background of the lightbox and in Test #2 it is a white background. If you have a suggestion for a different color that would be fine as well.

Which image looks better?

Its difficult because a card that has blue, purple, yellow, and orange is hard to find a suitable background color for. I'm not familiar with this set, do all cards in it have the purple dotted border? If yes you might have to go with Test #1 but I'm not sure yet... maybe right a Test 3 with a very light brown.

There are so many different cards that Topps uses for the Archives. Here's a few more examples that I need to take new pics of so I can make a standard size with a standard background like I have done with other sets in my collection. (see the link in my signature)

Ok if that's the case and there's many card types I think light brown (Birch?) is a happy medium between many differing colors schemes. If not for that I'd say silver is better than white.

I currently have about 130 of the Archives Edgar Martinez Autos so this will be painstaking.

I'm solidly in the #2 camp. It's just cleaner. And, btw, it's fabulous that you're getting your website up and running.

Agree, much cleaner look, although I wouldn’t mind seeing some other colors like @JVHaste suggested

White makes a colored border stand out better, but black makes a white border stand out better. If you want consistency, I'd go with black and just know that dark borders will blend in a bit.

I would suggest making it set specific, seeing as how your site seems to be organized in that manner. Like mrmopar said, alternate the background colors between black and white to best contrast with the set's borders. If you want a single color that works across the board, I would suggest something in the range of a dark gray.

I don't like #1, too busy and looks textured. I would go with a solid color, and like others have said, think a grey tone would work better.
