What is the Best way to clean the surface of Bowman Chrome

I have a few cards I might be sending into BGS....Surface seems to be my issue...

Looks like I am back into prospecting again....Last time was back in 2008...Mike Stanton....Those where the days....I was buying his Bowman Base for about 30-35.

Seems you can never completely leave the Hobby.....This time I am just buying single cards...Case busting didn't work for me...

Use a damp paper towel (not TOO moist; wash your hands and then dry them using a paper towel, then use this towel for cleaning the cards), and rub vigorously with the card on a completely flat surface. You may wish to use gloves to avoid getting fingerprints on the card as you hold it down. You can do this to both the front and back (be careful not to smudge the signature on autographed cards). I do this with every card I intend to send in. There is a lot of goop and dirt that you can clean off this way.

I would never use anything damp or wet on the cards surface. IMHO.

Lens cloth or microfiber cloth all the way...paper towels can cause micro-scratches.

I also use indirect air from an air canister, just to blow any particles that may scratch the card's surface before I actually use the microfiber cloth.




I don't use anything wet either, but I've heard other swear by spit...

C'mon Russ, you didn't see the episode of Mythbusters? It's brown soda and aluminum foil, but I always use the good stuff. Nothing by Coca-Cola Classic and Reynolds Heavy Gauge Aluminum foil for my babies.

Chrome cards have UV coating on them so they're waterproof (on the surfaces anyway). I should add that you need to wipe them dry afterwards as well or they may streak. I've done this literally with hundreds of cards and have received plenty of 9.5 grades. Of course, if you're not comfortable with it, don't do it.

I'd go with BunchOBull with lens cloth or microfiber cloth Kleenex can cause micro-scratches. good luck bro!
