Do you think would have been a good MMA fighter? I know this is all speculation but it's fun to speculate. I believe Curt Henning would have been a decent MMA fighter. My basis is simple, he was a gifted athlete who seemed to excel at whatever he wanted to. Besides, what better nickname could there be in MMA then "Mr. Perfect"?

i'd say Sheldon Benjamin since he was a college wrestling champ and he's insanely athletic. I think he'd be similar to what Kevin Randleman was. I also think that Kurt Angle could have been but his time has pretty much passed him by now.

on the opposite, i think the Giant Silva is the worst idea of a wrestler becoming a MMA fighter. shows size doesn't matter there.

**Current**
Kurt Angle
CM Punk (new age Lance Storm imo)
Samoa Joe
Randy Orton
Tomko (already does, but not really mainstream)

...two most unfortunate guys who couldnt

Shelton Benjamin- 2 time All American at Minnesota and trained with Lesnar during college
Charlie Haas- 2 time All American at Seton Hall

**Past**
Daniel Puder- reported fight vs Angle never came to fruition
Sean O'Haire- is actually doing MMA right now
Nathan Jones-freakishly strong (remember could rip prison doors off hinges)
Lance Storm- very quick and agile, good with kicks and submissions
Dean Malenko- submissions, ground work

...theres more but these are my main picks

Lance Storm was the first one to come to mind.

I thought this the other night while wathcing ECW One Night Stand and his match with Chris Jericho. I figured if he got into MMA at a young age, that he'd have been pretty decent.

What about Matt Morgan? I'd say if that guy had got into it at an early age he'd have been a beast too. He's got freakish size.

Older picture of him. There isn't JACK squat for pictures of him online.

I'd say Morgan's blood is clean too. He was a part of that NASA thing where they sent certain humans DNA into space a while ago.

Great athlete all around.

His American Gladiators Profile with newer picture.

Have him listed at 7 foot 310 pounds. And I believe it. That's insane.

Kurt Angle probably would have been good at it if he would have started training 15 years ago instead of going into WWE. He just couldn't do it now. Too old and too beat up.

Well to be honest, their wrestling ability is one thing but the ability to take a punch is what would determine their ability to succeed or not in mma. Size and muscle mean very little. Look at guys like James Thompson. Huge and powerful but no gas tank and glass jaw.

I bet Matt Morgan would be a beast though, if his knees could take the kicks.

if we go old school then i say

Billy Graham
Ivan Putski
Bruiser Brody
Ken Patera
Bruno Samartino

they were either super tough or accomplished grapplers. they'd have a lot to learn though.

i also just thought about this but Bill Goldberg would be interesting considering his conditioning, physique, and that he has some Sambo training.

also, what does someone think would happen if the Big Show fought. he has had a ton of boxing training, he's freaking huge, and i've heard stories of this guy getting hit in the head with things like beer bottles, bricks, etc and not being phased back when he was younger and got into a lot of trouble. plus the guy's nuts. during that whole Floyd Mayweather angle, he told Mayweather to go ahead and hit him for real and as hard as he could. Mayweather didn't want to but the Big Show wanted it to look real and guaranteed him he would be fine. Big Show took a hard combo, got his nose broke, but wasn't phased by that either.

What is the heavyweight cut-off? 275lbs. I think... so Big Show would be hurting to make weight! I wonder if they will ever have a Super Heavyweight division for the 275lb and up guys? Maybe they already do for all I know. :?

i'm not sure what the cut-off is. i know when Pride was around, there were some guys that weighed a LOT more than 275 LBS though so maybe he could have fought there.

It sure would be hard to imagine anyone doing much damage to the Big Show. Maybe they could run around a lot, make him chase them, wear him out, score some points, and take a decision?

leg kicks to the back, wear down the knees, get him to the ground, then:
Rear Choke (Big guys go out faster)
Ankle lock
Leg bar
Triangle choke

it wouldnt be tough to take him out at all. size is useless against someone with good technique.

Let the Big Show get on top of you and then tell me size is useless. :D

Anyone with good technique wouldnt let it happen. He doesnt have a lot of speed and his agility is average at best. Size is useless against someone with good technique. Thats what I am saying. I've done this long enough to have seen it and having done it.

I agree size can be negated, but I'm also saying someone with that much of a size advantage can pose more problems. I'm going to have to assume he'd outweigh most of his opponents by close to 250lbs. All I'm saying is there's always a chance he could get his hands on you and in some way or another take you down. Once there, you cann't tell me that a 500lb man on top of you wouldn't be a daunting task. I'm not sure he could do anything once there other then try and ground and pound you and most likely the ref would stand them up again..but hey who knows maybe he actually has some wrestling skill too?

Big Show?? Please...

Just go watch Fedor vs Hong Man Choi. Or even Fedor vs Zulu.

That's what I was thinking Ty. Fedor bear hugged him and pulled him down on top of him a few times on purpose.

I've never been sold on the Big Show, even when he said he wanted to be a boxer. All it would take is some leg kicks and he's done. All someone would have to do is watch a tape on Bmb Sapp and see how you take him down, then, there you have it. Game plan for Big Show.
