My favorite was Dewayne Wise's.

What's your top catch and why?
Willie Mays

One I saw I TV was a couple years ago. Mets guy(left fielder) robbed someone from a homerun and gunned the ball to first base and got that runner out in the playoffs.

Of all time? Mays

Mays was a nice catch, but highly overrated. I have seen about 10 Jim Edmonds catches that were better. Hard to pick one, but Gary Mathews when he was with Texas probably made the best I have seen.

I always thought the Mays catch was overblown, though still a great play.
I vote for Edmonds although this one isnt far behind

I was going to say Jim Edmonds as well. He has a couple that were better than Mays' IMO

You have to consider the era & the stage. The Mays catch was the greatest of all-time. It's "The Catch" & always will be.

for me its ozzie smith when he dove and reached behind him barehanded to snag the liner and than threw the guy out at first...any type of catch doesnt compare to that.

Based solely on difficulty, I'd go with Edmonds. A full sprint backwards diving catch when the ball is still traveling away from you is one of the most difficult plays in the game. It's essentially a full-extension, diving version of an over-the-shoulder catch.
