was he ever a star in the bigs? in minor league he rocked but in the bigs he just cant do anything. His first year (only 35 games) he had a .210 average. his second year (he played 56 games) his average was only .245. And last year in 56 games he batted .235. So in a way nothing really "happened" he just stank in the majors all the time. I believe if he played more he would do better. They just throw him in here and there. They need to let him play alot to learn the bigs and i feel he will do alot better...

hope he can start producing. I've got some decent stuff of his. I feel like the phillies are going to need some fresh blood if they want to start dominating again. Was he an OF? I can't remember...

I still think Brown is going to be very good. He's just been injured at the absolute wrong times. I hope both him and Revere play a lot together in the OF. Fun to watch.

So much misinformation in this thread.
Ok Mrs. Information.
So do you care to share with the class, the reason you think this. Or is it another famous Jeff comment post.

Give the guy a little time. Some players take 3 or 4 years to round into form, particularly taller players. Derrek Lee comes to mind. He was below average his first few years in the league, turned into an average to good player in Florida, and turned into a star with the Cubs about 10 years after his RC came out. Creating a compact swing path and a steady base can take a little more effort for the tall guys. This isn't to say that the same thing will happen for Brown, but he still has 2-3 years to become a good MLBer. However, if his cards are going to be worth anything, he better do it sooner rather than later.

Man I tell ya, I went to a doubleheader last year at the ironpigs stadium, which unfortunately as a mets fan is my closest minor league park, and witnessed a Brown debacle. I've never seen one player get so unmercifully booed by his home team crowd. Throughout the two six inning games he must have dropped at least 3 easily catchable balls, like in and out of his glove, and struck out probably five times. He might have the talent, but it wasn't shown that day. Of course, to be fair I was at another game earlier in the year, or two years ago, where he hit a bottom of the ninth walkoff homer, but I've never seen a performance as bad as that doubleheader before.
