Well the economy has the card market down a bit, and some past favorites have dropped in prices considerably. Meanwhile players continue to develop. With prospects, if the player is a bust it might happen before the market as a whole rebounds, so it's crucial to hit on winners. With guys in the majors, it may just be a matter of buying the guys you like and waiting for the market to rebound (which I believe it will sooner or later as the interest in baseball cards seems to have remained pretty strong.) Of course there are other factors like players getting overlooked which need to be considered.

So...who do you like?

Me?

Albert Pujols-Guy in unreal and RC Auto's have not been this low in a long time. The SPx is my favorite at current prices and if I get the funds I'll probably try to buy another

David Wright-Only RC Auto. NY. Playoffs. Young and getting better. Prices as low as they've been in a few years.

Nick Markakis-Continues to improve. OBP up a ton this year. RC Auto is really cheap.

Felix Hernandez-Record makes people overlook the ERA.

Brian McCann-Catchers are tough, but he's had a huge year, and prices have remained really low.

Any others? I think K-Rod is much cheaper than he would be if he was going for the record in a year where the market was better. His cards might receive a bump if/when he hits the market.

A guy I totally forgot about. Catchers are tough though, but $15 seems really low.

Even though Verlander had an off-year, I still think he has the stuff to be an ace for 8-10 years. And his chromes can be had for under $40.

And Jacoby Ellsbury I think is another solid buy. He has the speed, and once he can figure out his swing and stop pulling everything, I can see him having many AS seasons. Chromes are at about $65-70, not a bad deal.

And I definitely agree with Markakis and Martin. A ton of potential there.

Others may disagree but I think Hanley's 03 SOTF, on card mind you, is an absolute steal. Ervin Santana stuff is dirty cheap, and I agree on Pujols all the way. Also, now coud be a good time to pick up some Arod SP's. He is 50 or so away, so he'll be knocking on 600 next season, and I think his SP's could see a big jump, but then again Griffey stuff didn't do a whole lot.

Stephen Drew. He should finish the season around .295, 20 doubles, 40 RBI, and a .875 OPS. Compared to last year (.238, 12 HR, 28 doubles, .683 OPS) he's made huge strides offensively. He's only 25 and plays a premium defensive position

I couldn't agree more with Markakis, I'm buying up all of his chrome autos that I can. I'm still very bullish on Sizemore's Bowman RC Auto as well.

I saw that someone else mentioned Kershaw and that is another that I agree with. I think that he is going to see another price surge at some point between now and the end of next season.

I find it interesting that no one mentions Morneau, I may be off on this one but with his numbers I don't see how you can go wrong with his '01 Bowman RC Auto for the price.

Kershaw might go up, though he'll need to develop into a star. Personally I love guys like Markakis who already are pretty darn good, and are just being overlooked.

As far as Morneau, he has the BA, but as a 1B guy his power numbers do not scream "hobby love" to me. Teixeira has more power and still does not get much hobby love (though I do think that might change a little.)

Mentioning Tex I think the next few months might offer real selling opportunities for him. He has a lot going his way hobbywise now.

Lester has also been great and prices are low.

Other names mentioned who I agree with include: Dukes, Drew and Verlander. Kazmir could see a nice spike if he does well in the Playoffs as can Shields and Garza. Ianetta has been completely overlooked and has been impressive (if I did not own some of his stuff there's no way I would have noticed as I haven't heard a thing about him.

Sizemore's Bowman seems really cheap as well.

I agree with Justin Verlander............

How about Joba Chamberlain. I'll say next year will be his big year and he'll not be pitching out of the bullpen for so long.. :D

anyone disagrees? Im glad I sold my 07 BC Auto for $150.

Ryan Braun's Chromes will take a little ching to buy in on, but from where they are now, they are the next big-time rookie cards that will keep creaping up over the years until one day you look around and they are being mentioned as one fo the best RCs of the last 25 years.
