I grew up right in the heart of that era when all of the regular pack inserts really got popular. I actually liked the game cards of the 80s best, where you could scratch off and win prizes. Wish I would have kept more of them.
Of those listed, the puzzle pieces were the most collectible in my mind. Back when IU bought fewer packs, they were especially hard to come by, like the Ruth, Cobb and Snider. I don't even remember who 1985 & 86 D puzzles were, Probably equally as hard to find for me though. Then, the flood gates started to open up. Later, for the late 80s/early 90s, I have dozens of full puzzle sets.
I gotta say the gum got the most use. Though I do still have my first monster box from 35 years ago with Fleer and Panini stickers all over it (Upper Deck was too expensive).
