Poor officiating all game but the end of the game was horrible.
St Johns was up 2 with like 6 seconds left and Rutgers had it under their own basket. They moved it up the floor and threw a long pass and the the ball gets tipped away..the St Johns guy goes and picks it up running toward the sideline, but clearly travels, steps out of bounds, and then throws the ball as far as he could into the stands with about 1.8 seconds left in the game. The refs assumed the game was over when the pass got tipped and made no call, allowing the clock to run out and then ran off the court.
Not only should they have called a travel and then out-of-bounds, but they should have called the guy for a technical foul for throwing the ball 30 rows into the crowd with time left on the clock.
I played college basketball and will be the first to tell you that poor officiating is just part of the game sometimes, but this is inexcusable. Anyone see it?
