hey all,

the eastern league rankings were music to my ears. Mind, you I have nothing of Tillman and Wieters.

BUT, my question is this....

Who would have possibly guessed before the season that Jordan Zimmerman would be ranked ahead of jose tabate, austin jackson, fernando martinez, jon niese, and carlos carrasco.

I guess that those holding his elite autographs are happy today....

I knew Zimmerman was pretty good. Grabbed a few Elites early in the year. His Chromes are way underpriced.

Don't get me wrong, I didn't think he was THIS GOOD either. I liked him, and he was cheap. After I posted this I just bought another (2) elite autos for $22.00. I think people holding these cards will be happy next year when he makes the MLB roster.

I have always been a huge Zimmerman fan and liked everything i read about him from scouting reports. I was very impressed with his numbers and season. I have 20 base elite autos 2 red elites and 1 gold /5. I cant wait to see what the nationals number 1 prospect does next season.

I was aware, projected as a midlle of the rotation starter before the season, now projected as a ceiling 2 probably 3/4 starter not that much of a change from the reports at begining of the year imho.

A 2 starter and 4 starter is a big difference. I guess my point was this, his report didn't change a ton, but he wasn't ranked ahead of UBER prospects like Fernando Martinez pre-season.

3/4 starter in my mind is a low 3 but very good 4, also his ceiling would be a 2 now how manny prospects also reach their ceiling?? And lastly i do agree i would not have him above F-mart before the season but in this case i see it as more Jordan just preforming as expected and others preforming less then expected, for example, i believe Manual did the EL. Before the season he had F-mart as a top 25 prospect yet now he is 7th in his league...also i am not hating on Zimmerman, im just stating facts..i do think he is cheep and a good value card wise as he might be in the bigs next year...

I was, and still am, a fan of Zimmerman BUT...

He is a nationals prospect, and a pitcher at that. Even if he joins the back-end of their rotation next season his prices really won't spike much. Nationals prospects really sell for poo-poo money, unless your name is Chris Marrero.

I sold my Zimmermans during the season and made some decent money on them.

I voted yes. However Fernando Martinez still has a high ceiling, but his write up is not wowing. I love Carrasco(Really great guy) but I don't think he will ever be great. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

Keep in mind these LEAGUE top-20 lists take PERFORMANCE into account a lot more than the overall Top prospect list does. There are always countless "inconsistencies" (in quotes, because they really AREN'T inconsistencies, if you read their criteria for each set of lists) between these LEAGUE lists and the overall (and even individual team) lists. I would not be surprised (in fact I am expecting it) if F-Mart ranks higher than Zimmerman on the BA overall Top-100.

Just wanted to point out the higher weight given to performance on these league top-20 lists that some may not have been aware of. Granted, performance is somewhat important when evaluating minor leaguers, but it's not something that matters as much as tools, ceiling, and probability of reaching said ceiling and maximizing potential.
