This is what I think they should do:
5. Curry (no way I take Jennings, he's AI in the making, and that's not a good thing, i like Flynn but not that high)
6. Harden
18. Eric Maynor (I think he's a big time sleeper, he single handedly beat Duke his Freshman or Sophmore year in the tourney.)

AI in the making talent wise? If so your crazy to call that not a good thing...
A ball hog who will never lead his team to a finals victory is what I mean.

Wow, he got his team to the Finals, and yes he got a finals victory. One player will never win a title alone, we have seen this multiple times, I cannot remember Iverson having a group of good solid players around him minus his stop in Denver(people will say as soon as he left the team became a contender, this goes more to Billups being amazing, he has done this for every team he's joined/Pistons(he was hurt and never got into the swing).

A similar argument just to get your juices going, so if the Timberwolves can get a big man like Dirk, they should pass because he is soft and will never lead his team to a finals victory even though he is surrounded by massive talent and a owner that spends money like water? DUCY those arguments don't work?
Iverson brings down every team he's played on because of his style of play, Jennings plays the same way. I want Dirk gone as a Mavs fan, he's useless, I hope they dump him and Howard for some young talent.

are you kidding me...dirks useless? hes one of the best players in the league and you would rather get rid of him for young talent that normally never pans out....[/quote:36fwymjo]
Sure he's good, but he's proven that he can't win, and I'd like to start over fresh, since he's said he wants to retire rather soon.[/quote:36fwymjo]

hes provent he cant win???? look at the team around him, you cant win a championship by yourself

and i gurantee every single gm in the game would rather have dirk over a just average player like iguoudala whos shooting is terrible and all he can do is dunk

Big Foye fan, and think he will flourish big time with another wing scoring threat on the court with him. Glad to see him out of the black hole that is Minnesota.
Unfortunately for the Wolves, I don't see any franchise players at those spots. I don't like Rubio as a franchise cornerstone (if they traded up) and while I LOVE Steph Curry, I think he is overvalued in the lottery. I think he will be a fantastic 6th man type, but lack of a true position will hurt him.

Hedo Turkoglu ran the point for Magic in crunch time throughout the playoffs. A true position isn't THAT big a deal. It might hurt him a little bit, but he is way too talented to let it affect him that much.
It's much easier to play a position that you have too much size for than to play a position you don't have enough size for.
And to whoever asked, no, I wasn't saying Foye was a franchise player, but I think he can be outstanding with a decent player on his side.

Not the answer I was expecting, I guess I just appreciate players differently. Remember one player can't win a Championship by himself, Jordan couldn't, Kobe Couldn't, KG Couldn't, Shaq couldn't the list goes on and on. I can't remember a 2nd dominate/allstar type player that Iverson had in his prime years in Philly.

Also when you trade for young talent, you can only hope they achieve Iverson/Dirk status, thats the whole goal to find one of those type of players...[/quote:24pb37w1]

Dikembe Mutombo. He won defensive player of the year that year and lead the league in rebounding.

They got Mike Miller too, so I think they did fine, Miller can light it up outside.

Defensive players with a allstar do not win championships, when I mean allstar/dominate i mean a secondary scorer. The lockdown defensive guys that have won the trophy have always had 2 big time scorers, bowen, posey etc.

Agreed, I am just saying Mutombo was a big reason why they got to the Finals that year. No one was going to stop Shaq, it was inevitable they were going to win the finals.
