I bought a box of 2010 Bowman Chrome Jumbo and cracked that sucker open. I pulled some nice cards, including a Jason Heyward Chrome auto.
Unfortunately, I immediately noticed some small scratches on the surface of the card. I threw the card up on ebay. After it sold, I noticed another mark on the card. Looks like a finger nail depression/ding. I didn't notice it before but there's no way I could have put it there since it went straight into a lucite holder.
Anyway, I let the buyer know...but here's my question.
I threw away the wrappers and the box. If I sent this back to Topps with my receipt, would they do anything for me?
I have to say, as desirable as Bowman Chrome cards are this year, the quality control from Topps is horrible. I had so many cards in bad condition. It's already hard enough to pull an auto of a decent player, but then you have to pray that the card is in good condition too!
Any suggestions? If I sold the card as is, what do you think is a fair price for the card with the marks on it?
