Keep seeing this all over the 'net. And everything you read on the internet is true. Pulled from the lineup tonight. Just waiting for word on the other moving parts.

I read Roy Firestone says the Cubs will be getting back a HUGE name prospect in return.

Would be crazy if it was A-Rod for Soriano. Just like back in the day.

EDIT: Before the trolls come out....I know it's for a lower level minor league pitcher with the Yankees taking on the bulk of his salary.

I'm betting Chase Whitley and one or two of Nik Turley/Evan Rutckyj/Bryan Mitchell. Yanks paying bulk of this season, <$2 million in '14.

Yanks will be on the hook for 6.8M of the 24M remaining.

1.8 this season
5 next season

As for the luxury tax hit for next season I've seen a figure around 4M.

Not bad, a much needed righty bat at a very reasonable cost.

For the money it's a good deal for the yanks.

It's seems strange seeing another team pay the bulk of the salary of a player headed to the rich Yankees.
Usually it's the Yankees overpaying for players.

Soriano with two Home Runs and 6 RBI last night.

First inning Grand Slam against Jered Weaver tonight.

Back-to-back 6 RBI game for Alfonso Soriano...and it's only the second inning.

8-0 Yankees.
