Thanks! Yea, it's a pretty dope patch. It's from a Breaking Barriers patch worn to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Jackie Robinson's crossing of baseball's color line in 1947.

Ok this is a bit later than early 2000's (2007) but I was super excited to land it for $5 (serial #02 /56 - jersey #):
Very nice, esp for your style of collection with the #. Seems like a good price too.
