The choice is yours. You can go with this, or you can go with that.
I think I'll go with this, 'cause this is kinda phat.
What: 2017 Bowman Chrome baseball cards
Arrives: Sept. 6
Box basics: Three autographs per one-pack HTA Choice box (12 boxes per case);
Two autographs per 12-pack master box (two mini boxes per master box; 12 masters per case)
What’s buzz-worthy: Topps offers a new format for Bowman Chrome with HTA Choice boxes that are autograph-only with their own features or a traditional release that includes standard cards and more via the traditional mini-box format.
The Basics: HTA Choice boxes will include only three cards — all autos — with their own exclusive parallels. Prospect autos found only here will include Gold Shimmer (/50), Orange Wave (/25) and Black Limited Edition (1/1). The prospect Refractor auto rainbow beyond these exclusives and also found elsewhere will include standard, Blue (/TBD), Green (/TBD), Gold (/TBD), Red (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors. Orange Refractors will only be had in hobby boxes and will be limited to 25.
Rookie Autographs will be on-card just like the prospects and include the following Refractor types — standard, standard, Blue (/TBD), Green (/TBD), Gold (/TBD), Red (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors. Once again Orange (/25) will only be in hobby boxes.
Among the other autograph inserts will be Prime Chrome Signatures with Orange parallels (HTA Choice only) and 1/1 Supers along with Chrome Sensation autos that will only have Supers and Orange Refractors that are hobby-only. Autos also in play will be Refractors that Never were and prep All-American autos from past events. That’s it for the HTA Choice boxes.
Over in hobby boxes you get a full array of inserts and base cards with plenty more than just ink on the table and a selection of cards spotlighting the Arizona Fall League as well. The Fall Stars cards (two standard cards per box) will have Orange (/25), Superfractor and autograph versions to be found (/TBD volume) along with Bowman Scouts’ Updates (same parallels). Also found only in hobby boxes will be Shimmer parallels — Purple, Green (/TBD), Gold (/TBD), Orange (/25) and Black (/1) — as well as image variations. Those two types of cards don’t appear to have autographs. Purple Shimmers will be one per box.
The standard Chrome Prospects set will have a number of parallels — Refractor, Bowman 70th Anniversary Logo Refractor, Green (/TBD) Gold (/TBD, Orange (/25; hobby-only), Red (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors. Also Hobby-only will be an Arizona Fall League MVP short-print card for Willie Calhoun, which will be a numbered card found nowhere else.
