Not like Ken Waldichuk is a huge RC but he's surely good enough to make the base set and he was held back for series 2, just got an auto card in series 1.

Some nice A's surprises on the checklist that I wouldn't have expected to get a card. Also an auto of one of the few A's I don't have an auto of...pictured with his previous team even though he has an A's base set card and I'm sure the auto is a sticker so it's not an issue with turnaround times. Oh well.

Debuting in 2023 across all three flagship sets (Series 1, Series 2 and Update Series), the Golden Mirror Image Variation line offers short-printed image swaps of the entire base set. Yes, 330 image variations. Look for the gold foil Topps logo on the front.
The backs also switch to a gold color scheme and have a golden "SSP" noted near the card number, which makes them even easier to identify. These average 1:454 Hobby packs and 1:46 HTA Jumbo packs.

At a crossroads with collecting all SP and SSP Yankees variations which I've attempted to do until 2022. I've even got the 2010 Pie in the Face Yankees set. Seemed crazy for the time, but this is just nuts.

Technically variations will become a parallel starting this year as it for all 330 cards. (The extra effort to do so is commendable by Topps, although like done so out of greed.)

However, with crazy odds and Blowout Card's bounty announcement, these will be expensive.

1:454 x 330 cards = 149,820 packs = 6243 boxes =1,041 cases = $1,008,748 @ $696/case

Blowout will pay $250,000 for complete set of Series 1 Gold Mirror Image. Similar to recent Judge and Goldschmidt buybacks from Chrome. If my math is correct, then approximately $750 per variation!? It will ensure these go for a handsome sum to drive sales. will have to see how coveted these become over time.

There ere could be other unannounced variations as well, likely of retired players and HOFers. Either way, it's going to be a much tougher chase than before.
