8 homers in his last 11 games. Maybe there actually is something left in the tank.

I hope so . Would like him get to 550/1700 by end of year. And if he can get to .300/650/2000/3000/600 dbls by the end of it all , what a nice career. I'd like him to keep the .400+ OB% but not sure it'll work that way.

The greatest RH bat ever... or at least that I've ever seen.

Funny thing is he is in his age 35 season and Bonds had his BS 73hr at age 36 season. Going into his age 36 season he will probably have 55-60 more hrs than Bonds.

Note: I am an "Old School" guy.

Hank Aaron
Willie Mays
Roberto Clemente
Rogers Hornsby
Honus Wagner
Jimmie Foxx

Pujols stacks up very well with all of these.

Bonds age 24-27 season (what many would consider a mans physical prime) he averaged 28 home runs. It wasnt until the next year that he had his first really good season. Pujols during that span averaged 42hr.

I don't think its suspicious that Pujols is powering up to a 35ish hr season at age 35, he has done enough in the past and isn't that old yet.

Now if his birth certificate finds him a 85 year old Hans Moleman I might change my mind.

Agreed. Pujols will likely never replicate his prime but he has also had some nagging injuries that had to have played a role in the steep decline. If some of those have cleared up we might find the decline was quite as far as assumed.

We saw a hot stretch from Pujols last season too, when he lead the AL in home runs and slugging percentage in April.
Then he withered away and finished with only 28 homers over a full season.

He started to decline at only age 31, when he should have been near his prime. He played through injuries his entire career. Maybe he stopped his "medication" when the PED rules got tougher a few years ago.

It's just odd how the bat speed of such an incredible hitter slowed so drastically at such a young age.
Or maybe he really is a lot older than he claims to be.

Hopefully it's just a worn-down body, because I don't want to see another baseball great taken down by scandal.

I love that he has been dealing and has blown by these guys with class instead of just getting by. Its make him passing these guys much more impressive. I hope he keeps this up.

now-543
end of year-563
35hr 2016- 598
30hr 2017- 628
26hr 2018- 654
23hr 2019- 677
18hr 2020- 695 (age 40)
15hr 2021- 710
13hr 2022- 723 (Bonds retires this age)

Just a random aging curve, I wonder how long he can keep this up. It really does look like injuries were bugging him because he is on point right now.
Raul Ibanez age 41 season he was able to cheat 1st pitch fastball and hit 29hrs in a pitchers park... anything is possible.

According to this: http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/billjames/_/age/34/careertotal/549/yearone/28/yeartwo/17/yearthree/30/goal/763
Albert will finish with 647 homers. Although if you're still hitting 24.7 homers a year, you might be able to hang around a couple more years if you want.

Personally, I've been wanting to pick up more nice Albert cards. For the past 15 years he's been just about the most expensive guy in the hobby. Compared to Trout and Harper, he seems like a relative bargain. recent sales of bat knob cards, logomans, barrels, rookie/early autos are all in my comfort zone right now. Still expensive but somehow they seem like good pickups now.
